History
Hopi Ear Candle. Calms & soothes the head, ears and mind.
The ear candle - and ear candling treatment -derives from the ancient secret of the American Indians.
It has been preserved and transformed through the use of technology into the Original Hopi Ear candle.
Historical roots can be found among the peoples of the Siberian prairies, Asia and the native North and South American Indians. Ancient rock paintings show the use of Ear candles at initiation rituals and medicinal ceremonies.
The Hopi, the oldest people with great medicinal knowledge and a high degree of spirituality, brought this knowledge to Europe.
Ear candles are excellent in the treatment of nose and throat congestion, sinusitis, headaches, T.M.J. pain, ,otitis and tinnitus external/tropical ear. Ideal relaxation treatment for stress or anxiety related symptoms. Softens earwax for easy removal.
Users of ear candles describe a soothing, light sensation in the ear/head area. Secondly, the locally applied warmth stimulates the local circulation, invigorates local circulation and reinforces the flow of lymph. At the same time, important acupuncture points and reflex zones are stimulated.
Ear candles have been used for centuries for their specific healing qualities. Chamomile as an anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic sedative. Sage as a carminative, astringent and circulatory stimulant which relaxes peripheral blood vessels. St. John's Wort, as a restorative tonic for the nervous system and an analgesic. All these in combination are very effective in the treatment of head and ear related problems.
How they Work
Ear candles have a purely physical function. A light suction action (chimney effect) and the movement of the flame create a vibration of air in the Ear candle, generating massage-like effect on the eardrum.
This induces a pleasant feeling of warmth and a balance of pressure in the ears, forehead and sinuses. It is soothing and helpful for earache and headache, ear noise, stress and nervousness. These benefits have been well know through 15 years of experience and confirmed by thousands of doctors worldwide.
The flow of air circulates a concentrated vapour of the herbal extracts, soothing, calming and protecting any irritated areas. The warmth of this heat draught stimulates the peripheral blood circulation.
Any stimulation of blood circulation leads to an improvement in the cleansing processes of the lymphatic system that, in turn, promotes immunological defences. It also stimulates energy points and reflex zones. The process gently increases natural secretion, which can continue to have effect up to 24-48 hours later.
